MagicINFO End of Life – Is Samsung VXT the only alternative?

Digital Signage Homeoffice

Internal Communication

20.04.2026 | You operate a digital signage system using MagicINFO, which will reach End of Life on June 30, and you are wondering whether switching to Samsung VXT is your only option.
With Screenimage Pro, we offer you a powerful 100% Swiss digital signage solution that meets the highest standards for data protection, security, and flexibility.

Reasons to Choose the Swiss Alternative

Swiss Hosting & Data Protection Optimization
Screenimage is fully developed and operated in Switzerland.
All data is stored exclusively in professionally secured Swiss data centers. For organizations with elevated compliance and data protection requirements (e.g. public sector, industry, healthcare, financial services), this represents a decisive added value.

Operating Models: SaaS or On-Premise
Another key difference compared to many proprietary platforms lies in the operating model. Screenimage can be deployed either as a cloud‑based SaaS solution or as a classic on‑premise installation.
This allows you to decide how much control you want to retain and which architecture best fits your internal security policies, network requirements, and IT processes.

Deep Integration Into Business Processes
Screenimage views digital signage not merely as a tool for displaying content, but as an integrated component of corporate communications.
Through a wide range of standardized interfaces, content can be sourced directly from internal systems such as ERP, CRM, or SharePoint.

Custom Content Distribution Structure vs. Rigid Playlists
Many traditional digital signage solutions are based on a standardized CMS logic with static playlists. For simple use cases, this is often entirely sufficient and can even be advantageous.
Screenimage also allows such reduced systems to be implemented efficiently and without unnecessary complexity.
The decisive difference becomes apparent as soon as requirements increase:
Multiple locations, different target groups, or highly variable content per screen quickly push the classic playlist model to its limits. Playlists become difficult to manage, content must be maintained multiple times, and adjustments often require coordination effort.
Screenimage is built on a customer‑specific information and content distribution structure designed to scale from the outset. This results in significantly better transparency, enables decentralized content creation, and is far easier to scale in the long term.

What Should Be Considered When Switching to a Swiss Alternative?

At the outset, it is crucial to determine which player hardware is currently in use. Many MagicINFO installations use the SoC media players integrated directly into Samsung displays, based on the Tizen operating system. In other scenarios, external media players are used, for example Windows based systems.
Existing Windows players can usually continue to be used without any issues and configured for Screenimage via remote access. For pure SoC installations, additional Windows players are currently required. However, there is a clear outlook: From summer 2026, Screenimage will run on Samsung Tizen players starting with version 7. This will eliminate the medium term need for additional hardware and allow existing displays to remain in use.

That said, we generally recommend strategically evaluating manufacturer independent control via external media players. This helps avoid excessive dependency on proprietary ecosystems, product cycles, and support decisions of individual manufacturers—issues that became particularly evident with the End of Life of MagicINFO.

Migration and Optimization

Once the hardware questions have been clarified, the focus shifts to sensibly migrating your existing MagicINFO setup to Screenimage. Together, we analyze which content can be transferred directly, where simplifications are possible, and where processes can be automated or optimized.

We would be happy to support you without obligation and show you how switching to Screenimage can be not just a replacement, but a genuine evolution of your digital signage landscape.
