INITIAL SITUATION
The Intercantonal Police School Hitzkirch (IPH) is the largest police training and continuing education center in Switzerland. Each year, the IPH prepares approximately 300 police cadets for their future roles as police officers. In addition to its role as a training partner for police forces in Central and Northwestern Switzerland, the organization also operates a seminar center with hotel facilities. The goal of the project was to quickly inform the cadets about all important topics while simultaneously welcoming seminar guests and guiding them individually to the appropriate rooms.

The main window displays current class schedules, training times, and assigned rooms. This information is essential for cadets as well as participants in continuing education courses and represents the primary use of the display during regular training operations.
In the evenings and on weekends, the same window is used to welcome seminar participants and guests, providing them with relevant information about the respective event, including schedules, locations, and general orientation details.
The displayed content is further enriched with supplementary information about the police academy, such as upcoming events, highlights, current topics, and ongoing campaigns from the IPH or affiliated police departments. This allows visitors and seminar guests to gain additional insight into the dynamic and diverse daily training life at the police academy.
To ensure that police officers remain informed about significant events in Switzerland and worldwide, an online news ticker is integrated into the display. In special situations, this ticker can be manually overridden to communicate critical internal messages or urgent IPH-related events, such as emergencies or important announcements.
