16.05.2022 | Corporate Newsroom is one of the current trends in corporate communication. The concept promises to address many of today’s challenges in professional corporate communication more efficiently. The idea behind the Corporate Newsroom is to merge the various communication departments of a company into one organisational unit (a central editorial team): from classic corporate communications and PR to marketing, customer service, and the social media team — all working together. In this article, we explain the intentions and goals behind this approach and the role Digital Signage plays in it.
The working method of a Corporate Newsroom is strongly inspired by that of a news editorial office. In editorial meetings, potential topics are collected and evaluated for their usability. The topics are then assigned to a person or team who prepares the content for all channels (print, online, social media).
This workflow allows topics to be managed much more efficiently than if each channel had its own dedicated person who first needs to familiarise themselves with the subject matter.
For many companies, this increase in efficiency is simply necessary in order to cope with the growing number of communication channels and the increasing expectations regarding speed. It makes little sense for one editor to prepare quarterly results for investors while another prepares them for employees — especially as the boundaries between channels are becoming increasingly blurred. For example, the audience of a social media post often includes customers, media representatives, and the company’s own employees simultaneously.
Corporate Newsroom solutions from Screenimage
At Screenimage, we have committed ourselves to simplifying digital information flow. It was therefore clear from the very beginning that we were enthusiastic about the Corporate Newsroom idea.
In recent years, we have already implemented initial Corporate Newsroom solutions. Our systems usually work in such a way that several screens in a meeting room or open plan office display all current communication activities of the company.
Especially during editorial meetings, the screen system provides an overview of all ongoing measures. New posts or reactions to content are displayed in real time. In addition, analyses from media intelligence providers or “web traffic statistics” can also be integrated.
We are particularly proud of the Corporate Newsroom solution we were able to design for Axa. Using this customer example, we would like to give you a closer look at the advantages and benefits of the solution.
We would be pleased to show you our solution and support you in implementing your own Corporate Newsroom.
