Digitising public communication through Digital Signage

Digital Notice Boards

05.01.2026 | More and more municipalities are replacing their traditional notice boards with modern Digital Signage solutions. The reason is simple: digital info boards save time, streamline internal processes, and make official information clearly visible at all times.

A classic Digital Signage screen

Digital screens offer a key advantage over traditional notice boards: information is no longer displayed statically. Instead, content is shown in a loop, creating a more dynamic presentation and attracting significantly more attention than a board filled with multiple A4 sheets. In addition to static information, videos and slideshows can also be included.

Thanks to the screen’s built‑in illumination, the information remains easy to read even in darkness or poor weather conditions.

Digitalised Notice Board

With this solution, not only the function but also the visual appearance of a traditional notice board is recreated in digital form. Instead of two or three split areas, the screen layout consists of many individual content fields.

In the implementation for the municipality of Root, for example, the layout features ten windows, each displayed in A4 size. This preserves the familiar look and feel while allowing the administration to benefit from the advantages of digitalisation.

Touchscreen

Interactive touchscreens allow citizens to navigate through the content themselves. Information can be structured by topic — such as news, elections, or building applications — and accessed as needed.

It is important that users immediately recognise that the display is a touch system so that the interactive features are actually used.

As mentioned earlier, our expertise goes far beyond digital notice boards. For example, we support the city of Zug in a wide range of projects related to the digitalisation of public communication — including screens in public offices, schools, libraries, and even at the cemetery.
