INITIAL SITUATION
On behalf of the Canton of Basel-Stadt, IWB supplies its customers in the Basel region with electricity, heat, drinking water, telecommunications, and mobility solutions. With over 1,000 employees, IWB operates its own infrastructure—such as power plants, waste-to-energy facilities, and data centers—and develops new services. In doing so, the company aims to achieve a fully renewable energy supply to enable climate-friendly, efficient, and economical energy use.
Most IWB employees spend their days maintaining facilities and networks and rarely work on computers. To keep this majority of employees informed about the latest news, IWB sought a suitable information system to ensure everyone is on the same page.

2019SOLUTION
As a first step, a total of 10 digital signage screens were installed at four different locations. The screens are updated both locally and company-wide by various content editors. Traditional topics include HR information such as new hires, promotions, anniversaries, and events. IWB is committed to ensuring its employees can work safely and healthily, thereby minimizing workplace accidents as much as possible. A special ticker that counts the days without an accident shows how successful IWB is in this regard and also subconsciously encourages caution.
In 2022, IWB took the next step: At the beginning of 2022, the company introduced the employee app “Screenimage Mobile” to deliver information even more directly to employees. Every IWB employee has a company-issued smartphone or tablet that they need for their daily work (reporting, etc.). With the app, employees now have the information from the screens with them at all times and can access it whenever it suits them. To easily manage and configure the app on all devices, it was integrated with IWB’s mobile device management software.
