Internal communication

Combining Visitor Information
and Internal Communication

INITIAL SITUATION

As Switzerland’s largest accident insurer, Suva insures 1.98 million working people against occupational accidents, occupational diseases, and leisure-time accidents. Suva employs approximately 4,200 people across 18 offices nationwide.

The Suva Customer Center in Lucerne receives and handles questions and concerns from policyholders. With the digital signage project, Suva pursued two goals. On the one hand, the aim was to welcome visitors to the Customer Center; at the same time, the project management team was also looking for a way to make employee communication more efficient.

SOLUTION

The proven Screenimage reception solution was installed in the entrance area of the customer center, where visitors are greeted by the screen and guided accordingly. In addition, various informational and prevention videos are played on the screen in an automated loop. On the second screen, which is used for internal communication, the two social media channels Facebook and Twitter were integrated alongside internal announcements and image spots. This content from external communication also has an internal impact and strengthens employees’ identification with the company.

In addition, other automated feeds such as the weather report, public transportation schedules, and the current menu were integrated. The Suva example illustrates how various existing information sources can be easily integrated into Screenimage. In addition, editors can of course upload manual content by posting announcements, images, or videos. At a glance, employees can see both internal departmental information and how Suva communicates externally.
