Simple and Clear Digital Signage at Helvetia

INITIAL SITUATION

With over 160 years of history, Helvetia is Switzerland’s leading multi-line insurer. The group employs around 6,600 people across Europe. Simple. Clear. Helvetia – practically everyone in Switzerland is familiar with this slogan.

It also fits perfectly with our vision: “We simplify the digital flow of information.” We were all the more delighted when, in 2018, we received the go-ahead to equip the Helvetia Service Centers (HSC) with a customized digital signage system.

At the three service centers (Basel, Lugano, Lausanne), employees handle a wide variety of requests from policyholders across Switzerland. The goal was to create an information system that quickly provides all employees with the most important information while fostering team spirit.

SOLUTION

The results are impressive, thanks in part to the intuitive software solution Screenimage Pro. Thanks to the predefined information structure, all screens in the service centers can be controlled and managed locally with a single connection. However, the local editors themselves play by far the biggest role in this success, as they continuously create new content with great creativity and dedication. In addition to internal guidelines and information, “team-building sections” are also posted. These include, for example, birthday greetings, contests, movie and book recommendations from employees, and photos from team events. Topics of conversation for the next coffee break are guaranteed.

This “soft content” makes the system even more appealing to HSC team members and adds a personal, friendly touch. Thanks to templates tailored to Helvetia, posts can be created quickly and always adhere to corporate design guidelines. Multilingualism presented a minor challenge during template design. For information applicable across locations, the content can be entered in all three national languages within the same post. On the screens, however, the post is then displayed only in the language of the respective location. In our view, the installation locations were also chosen wisely. The screens are mounted directly at the entrance. This way, employees can see the most important information at a glance when they enter the office.

In addition to the content created by the Service Center itself, we also take advantage of the ability to integrate Helvetia’s social media activity, the stock price, current weather information, and daily updates on the cafeteria menu.
